Even though Patient Right to Autonomy Act has already passed, it will still need a three-year buffer before it becomes fully effective. On the one hand, the three-year time frame is to help the public learn more about this Act, so that people can be equipped with more knowledge to protect their own rights. On the other hand, the time gives the public and private sectors appropriate time to discuss more details on how this Act should be carried out and regulated.
